The game went great. Everybody loved it. The module is good if you're a first timer at DMing. It's very simple and straight to the point. It's also a great module if your players are first timers at pen and paper RPGs. I had four players in my initial campaign. The great thing about this module is that it slowly eases your players into the game. Like, my players were falling for the obvious traps in the beginning since they didn't know how the system worked too well. Lucky for them, the punishment for falling for the traps weren't as harsh as the ones that came up towards the end. Now that they're aware of what traps can do, they learned to become more cautious.

As far as having an NPC as an adventurer to aid the PCs, if that's what you have to do to make the game fun, then go ahead and do it. In the end, as long as everybody has fun, that's all that really matters. With that in mind, try to take your NPCs and go crazy with their personalities to make them interesting. Of course, don't go overboard since the main stars of the game are your PCs and they should be the ones making the major decisions.

Masks of the Living God is a very interesting module. I went with it after we go done with Crypt of the Everflame. I say it was interesting mainly because of how much more open it when it compare it to Crypt of the Everflame. Overall, I thought it was a great module.

Hi there,
How did your game go? I am thinking of running Crypt of the Everflame as my first outing as DM/GM also! So I would love any advise/tips you might have for me on this.
How many players are in your campaign? I may only be able to get two players for mine and may have to throw in a NPC or two to aid the PC's.
I plan to, if all goes well, follow with Masks of the Living God.

I stopped playing around when the medic pack came out, but it certainly seems like it. Of course it won't be GREAT until they release weapons for everyone, but they've done a good job of making the basic gear a strong choice (and sometimes the obvious one) for the heavy, medic, pyro and scout

This is stupid, but I quit playing TF2 mostly because achievements and loadouts took the fun out of online play. Not the actual idea of achievements and loadouts mind you, but the fact that they released them piecemeal so that everyone flocked to that class and did dumb shit and barked orders out on voice chat so that they could unlock achievements.

The worst moment was when I was a Heavy playing with 4 medics swarming around me and I couldn't get healed when I yelled because they were trying to do that one medic achievement.

It honestly wouldn't be so bad because he had the same kind of mechanics in HD Remix, they just made his move properties good enough that even without the claw and the mask he still kicked ass

Now it's, "Oh by the way, your moves are slow as dogshit and have no priority but don't worry we kept your equipment mechanic, the one that only you have"

I actually read a review saying SF4 was basically a reimagining of the 2d fighter with its simplified controls and easy motions

Gotta confess I was scratching my head at that one

Street Fighter 4 makes me miss the button-centric combos of DoA4 though I know I probably complained about them when I was playing. Trying to do some of the circle motions without paying $80 for an arcade stick is the real stuff of nightmares.

It makes me think the next new Xbox 360 fighting-game move paradigm will be eighth circle motions
